Yes, It is however used in the K-Lite package, It is used in many programs such as XMedia Recode, MediaCoder, eMule, and K-Lite Codec Pack.

I am afraid now if I don't update it a Redfox will hunt me down

Actually, I think by default anytime you run mediainfo it will check for updates and let you know if there is one. That's if you run it directly though, if something else is using it I don't think it does. Just an interesting tidbit.

It's just a good tool to see what's in a video file (Dolby Vision, audio format etc.). The latest release didn't add too much interesting but I also want to be on the newest release.

Oops! My bad! I married in Germany and here it's "Ich will". I must have confused that. I think I need more practice getting married also in English (Don't tell my wife!!!).
