Hi guys,

I've got a LG Blu ray writer & Hd Dvd reader, and recently got my
hands on a Toshiba Hd Dvd writer and I've noticed that Hd Dvd
blank media is selling for about £1.30 per disc, and was wondering
anybody got any tips on what I can do with these, besides the obvious,
like can I put ordinary Dvds on them, and play them on my HD Dvd player.

Any tips guys.

I found that they wouldn't play back on my HD DVD settop player

Hi Adbear,
I have the original Toshiba standalone, so I've sent for ten blank HDDvds
of three different makes, they were only £1.35 each, and will be trying them
with different projects, maybe it was the pc format that stopped them playing
on your standalone, anyway I'll leave you know how I get off with these,
probably another expensive lot of coasters, to my large collection.

How would my PC stop them from playing in my standalone? I also have a Toshiba HD DVD player and the Xbox add on and I couldn't get backups of my movies to work. I decided not to bother with HD DVD once it was dropped and still have 5-10 blanks kicking around

Hi Mate,
just an update on my playing about with HD Dvd media, I've been
using Multiavchd which converts normal Dvds into HDDvd, its a bit of
a pain, very slow, average of 6hours, but the finished product is very
good, it changes the resolution from 720 x 576 to 1920 x 1080 and the
difference is remarkable, now these are then burned onto double layer
dvds, or Hddvd 15gb discs, i,ve tried them all but came up with a small
problemo, half way through playing on the toshiba hd player they stall
and refuse to budge, and you have to pull out the power and start all
over to even get the disc out, now this is happening with the HDdvds
as well, so it must be a fault in the burning process, now I'm burning
using Imgburn and wonder if there's a bug or something that I'm doing
wrong, any idea's on this. ?

What has this got to do with 15GB HD DVD blanks?

I have to admit I haven't used my HD DVD stuff for nearly 2 years, and even then only for trying to back up my originals
