I am unable to make a backup of this Blue Ray movie Four Lions by Chris Morris using RedFox AnyDVD HD. Do I need to get the Elby CloneBD to do this?
Please post an AnyDVD log file. Many times the answer to your question is visible to experienced users or RedFox support or a developer right away. Ensure Anydvd is running. Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc. Right click the red fox icon on your system tray (to the lower right). Select "Create Logfile" Wait for Anydvd to create a log file. In some circumstances this might take 5 minutes or longer. A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile "Anydvd_Info_<xxxxxxx>.ziplog" (or something similar) Click "ok". A Windows Explorer will open. You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.ziplog" Below the text box you will see 3 buttons. Click the middle one that states "Upload File". A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the RedFox forums) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .ziplog file you created. Wait for the progress indicator in the top right corner to finish. Then click "Close" When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the .ziplog file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at.
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I cannot even get as far as a report. The DVD drive just clicks and whirrs and then stops. Here is a screen picture. I have just tested the program with another DVD and I get the usual report. I bought Four Lions online in September. It plays on my DVD player.
Are you trying to copy a BLU RAY of "Four Lions (2010)" or a DVD of "Four Lions (2010)"? If you are trying to copy the BLU RAY version you will need to use a drive that reads BLU RAY discs Your HP drive will read CDS & DVDS but not Blu Ray discs! If it is a Blu ray disc and you want to burn a copy to a blank blu ray disc be sure to get a drive that BURNS to blank blu ray discs as some blu ray drives can only READ a blu ray disc.
Thank you 'Just Curious'. Your reply makes a lot of sense. I do have a Blue Ray version of Four Lions (2010). I cannot see that my computer would read a Blue Ray disc now you mention it.
Your HP DVD drive appears to be a LAPTOP drive - correct? If yes - You can replace it with a laptop drive that can just read blu rays or with one than can also burn blu rays. Another option is connect a external USB blu ray drive to your laptop.
Not a laptop. I have an HP Pavillion with a DVD port in the side. I will check out adding a drive that can read and burn Blue Ray but this is not a priority. I was going to lend a back up to a friend but I will lend the original. Thank you again for your help. It is always good to learn something new.
