Hi!

While I build all my own towers, I'll be the first to admit that laptops remain much a mystery to me.

I have an older Compaq EVO N1015V laptop that has a CD only drive. I would like to replace this with a DVD reader (I don't care about burning).

Are these things standard? How easy to open the case? Where can I get such a drive? Any help would be appreciated.

Best is not to open the case

Normally, those drives are held in place by two or four screws in the frame but I'm not so sure that you can get another drive for that slot since HP took over Compaq some time ago.

Easiest and pain-free solution is to purchase an external USB DVD drive.
