Is there actually a free media player program which does know which list to pick that isn't plagued with stuttering playback issues of HD audio like all the others I've tried? And also plays the disc menu as voovaz brought up?
 
No, because in order to have full menu support they need to be licensed. And licensed player is required to do something painful for backups and that's detecting cinavia
