Apologies for being thick :bang:.

However I have been happily using CloneDVD etc for many years successfully.

But I have just been given an avi file that I want to burn to DVD.

So I used my converter, "ImTOO MPEG Encoder 3" to convert it to a VOB file, only to hear the beautifully sexy "Oh!!! NO!!!" voice as she popped a question box to me asking where was the 'IFO' file .... like I know !!!!!

So I know I need a DVD tut or something but really can someone please tell me if CloneDVD is gonna work or do I need something else to create or get an ifo file.

The VOB file itself plays fine, albeit without sound!!!! Do I infer that an ifo file gives you the sound???

Can anyone please help out an old miscreant of his ignorance

TIA

you need a dvd authoring software in order to create ifos. clonedvd won't do that. mh and no, an ifo doesn't give you the sound directly. an ifo file is just like a table of contents for a dvd. so what an ifo does is to inform the player software about the languages of the sound tracks and chapters and so on.

A DVD structure is necessary and there is more to it than simply having a VOB file. You will need to create an actual DVD structure using a piece of software before CloneDVD will work with it.
