Hi,
I have an iPod Classic (160GB) and am using CloneDVD mobile (v1.1.6) to encode some of my DVDs to watch on it. Quite simply I just want to be sure I'm optimising the encoding for my device (quality vs filesize).
At present I'm using the iPod Video 5. gen (hires) option, adjusting zoom etc. to get a 320x240 resolution (i.e. full screen on iPod), running 2 passes and 540kbps (24 on the slider). I believe this results in an MPEG4 encoding though? On balance I think I'd rather use H.264 as I understand it results in higher/same quality video with smaller filesizes (albeit with longer processing times to encode).
What's the best set of options to achieve this for my iPod Classic? What do other people use?
Can we expect a future update to CloneDVD mobile to specifically list the iPod Classic with H.264 & MPEG4 options?
Thanks for any responses!
