i'm dual booting now. the goal is to get rid of windows completely eventually and slowly replacing all of my programs and learning the linux alternatives is part of that process. it's also helping to kill my MMO addiction. I can play world of warcraft and vanguard through wine i guess if i wanted to, but it's not as smooth and not an ideal setup lol so it's going to seriously add to my productivity in "real" life as well :p

thank you for your help, i'll definitely check out that link. the page looks like it will be useful for more than just dvd utilities as well.
