Hi everybody, I have been using this product for a long time now and have had literally no issues up until this last month or so. I am finding that AnyDVD is having a hard time getting around the newer protections of the new releases. Are other people having this same result? I have had to (on many occasions) shut down AnyDVD and use a free program to get around the protection. I use AnyDVD along with DVD Shrink. With the free program, I have to use it with DVD Decrypter, and the DVD Shrink. But in the end, it works. Recent movies with issues: "Stranger Than Fiction", "Rocky Balboa", and "Casino Royale". I love AnyDVD and have NO problem whatsoever paying for software. But I must admit, it is frustrating when a "Free" program seems to be more up to date than a program I pay money for. Any known reasons as to why this is happening would be great. Cheers!
The reasons rest entirely with Sony Pictures putting huge amounts of crap on their DVD's. These are the people to blame, AnyDVD does a great job to keep up with the new protections but it is not designed to rip the dvd, just to primarily decrypt on the fly.
There are "stickies" at the top of the forum. Read this one: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=885
tmternes@telus.net ....Perhaps this will explain the problem. AnyDVD & CloneDVD are sold by Slysoft. They make a profit from the sales of those products. AnyDVD is updated regularly to work with CloneDVD. You can purchase Clone DVD or use other softwares.
AnyDVD has expressed a commitment to update the ripper / or provide a ripper that will present an ISO compatable output to Shrink. So far no updates as to how/where that's going so far. -W
any dvd not keeping up?? I think the problem is that dvd shrink is not keeping up. there is no new support, it is great at what it does but it is falling behind. I use Icopydvds2 as an alternative. It's always good to have several tools in the box
