AC3 encode Function; DTSconnect and DD Live obsolete?

Hy,
currently I'm using AC3 Filter as decoder..then the audio goes into Reclock for 23,976 -> 25 FPS speedup and then is passed to my Soundcard which has the Dolby Digital Live Function for Sending 5.1 AC3 to my DD-Receiver via optical cable.

so..AC3 Filter to 5.1 PCM -> Reclock speedup -> Soundcard DD-Live ->5.1 AC3 to Receiver


Do I understand it correctly, that NOW I dont need a special Soundcard with DD-Live or DTS-connect for what I'm using it now? Reclock can now ALSO reencode to AC3 and send this via the soundcards optical out to the dd-receiver??

Yes you are right. Of course this only works when Reclock is running, so does not work for games etc. This can be good though as it can allow music to passthrough without lossy compression and without having to mess around reconfiguring drivers.
