    LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I'm currently looking at the Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD external slim drive to pair with a laptop I'm planning to purchase in the next couple months (as soon as it's in stock) to replace my aging desktop. It's well reviewed, nice and sleek-looking, and has a...

MPC not opening BD structure normally

I"ve encountered a problem with one of my discs that I hasnt' cropped up before. I use AnyDVD on my computer along with MPC to play blu-ray content without a software player... MPC can't do menus, but with AnyDVD installed it always correctly loads up a disc and will let me navigate the various...

    Small output file size

I've got a 670, and the same thing happening. My ISOs when set to a 25GB disc in CloneBD are about 14GB. I'll hopefully be building a new system soon, so I don't need to worry about it much longer and won't bother upgrading the GPU in this one. Until then, I'll just turn CUDA off, which seems...

Will AnyDVD HD be able to encrypt UHD Blu-Rays in the Future?

While I've started purchasing UHD Blus, I haven't got a UHDTV or player yet. The one title I've bought (Deadpool) also came with a Blu-Ray, which I'm using until I have UHD hardware. I'm waiting mainly until televisions that support HDR and/or Dolby Vision and their increased colour gamut...

50 Shades of DMCA interpretations Volume 42... Will it ever end?

[Section 103 (17 U.S.C Sec. 1201(a)(1)) of the DMCA states: No person shall circumvent a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work protected under this title. The Act defines what it means in Section 1201(a)(3): (3) As used in this subsection— (A) to "circumvent a...

50 Shades of DMCA interpretations Volume 42... Will it ever end?

Blu-ray players don't circumvent anything to do their job. The AACS-LA, which developed and owns the AACS copy protection system, hands out the keys necessary for the decryption so they can be installed in authorized devices. By definition, what they do isn't circumvention, but legal decryption.

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

In a lot of cases, I think that's true, yes. There have been times when an update (or beta) is forthcoming very quickly after logfiles are provided.

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

Granted, there are some others. However, I'd still argue that regardless of how useful most of those other pieces of software are, none of them has quite the same level of development as AnyDVD. Compared to the hundreds of updates AnyDVD has received since its inception in 2003 (those updates...

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

Even most of those were never truly lifetime. The license didn't expire, but generally you had to pay an upgrade fee when a subsequent major version was released (e.g. Office '95 to '97 to 2000, Norton 2005 to 2006, etc.). That's still how most of them work, though MS Office has also adopted a...

    RedFox website is online!

It's my understanding that existing CloneDVD licenses will continue to work with future updates (if there are any) as those licenses, despite being sold on Slysoft's website, are really Elby licenses. Same goes for CloneBD.

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

If all you do is backup a few DVDs a year, I really doubt you'll need to repurchase, anyway. The current AnyDVD on its own should be able to handle any disc thrown at it without the OPD just using the AI Scanner. The OPD just speeds up the process, but isn't necessary. It's Blu-Rays that...

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

I don't think anyone in this thread is "going after", attacking, or blaming lifetime license owners for anything. I'm a lifetime license owner, myself. I'm just questioning whether or not lifetime licenses for AnyDVD should be something RedFox offers in the future or not. Arguments for either...

    Donation Button Thoughts

I've noticed that a lot of VPN services accept payment via gift cards from other stores (for user anonymity, I suppose). That could be an option for RedFox.

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

At one point, at least (not sure about today), the CEO of Slysoft also owned an offshore online gambling outfit. So he did have money coming in from other sources, probably quite a bit of it. Now that it's just RedFox alone, the situation probably is very different.

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

That's news to me, and not a bad deal. I just usually wait for their 85% off upgrades e-mail to get the latest version of Winzip Pro and Courier together for around $14. Regardless, even they charge either annually ($5-10, depending on whether you have Standard or Pro) or an upgrade fee...
  16. TM2-Megatron

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

Yes, but I believe eligibility for the annual maintenance is only on brand-new license purchasers. This is basically to ensure that if someone purchases the software and Winzip releases a new major version 2 months down the road, the customer doesn't feel too ripped off. You get that one...

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

I think the biggest misunderstanding regarding the mention of "subscription" licenses is that some people seem to believe their software will no longer work after the subscription expires. Calling them "perptual licenses" might be better, going forward. They work forever, but are only good for...

Anydvd (RedFox) and UHD/AACS 2.0 - There is hope

The movie is still stored on the disc in far higher quality than any streaming service. The Internet connection is just required for something to do with the decryption of the AACS 2.0.

Anydvd (RedFox) and UHD/AACS 2.0 - There is hope

Yeah, I'd imagine if AACS 2.0 can be successfully removed from the copy, then that should remove the requirement for an Internet connection by default. The Disc will look like any non-commercial BD.
