yep, but seem to notice it more with backups than original discs. Also, I notice it ALOT more on my SONY p.o.s. than the cheapo APEX player. Can't believe a 'value' player works better than "top tier" manufacturer. :disagree: :rolleyes: edit: come to think of it... I never noticed the layer...

SinCity Anyone make a successful copy? Tried a while back and didn't have any audio stream... but that was 2 CloneDVD and 4-10 AnyDVD revisions ago. :agree: Just wanted to know if anyone out there has made a good copy using CloneDVD & AnyDVD. TIA!

I have the same drives (NEC 3550A) both came BUNDLED with RiDATA 4X DVD-R DL media. First one (beige front)came with 1 disc, second one (silver front) came with a 5 pack. I've used all 6 discs (5 movies and one data backup) without issue on my NEC-3550A(s). Not a compatability issue.

Agreed. Without some control, I find auto-updating of anything very intrusive. Also, I very rarely UPDATE, just cause there's a newer version of it (BIOS, Drivers, programs) available. I like to search around and make sure there aren't any issues with the new version before I commit...

I have read elsewhere that this pause is due to an improper (rushed) copy. I always thought this "pause" was caused by the player moving from one layer to the second layer on the original disc, and it was the player itself that didn't cache the files properly, when you noticed this pause. So...

.gvi is the GOOGLE video format... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Video Check out that wiki... I believe you can just rename the file and give it an .avi extension and it will work (I think). Good Luck

Labels FTL! I had a label come off a CD while it was in use and it destroyed the drive it was in (good thing it was a plain CDROM, and not a DVD burner). I like inkjet printable discs and my printer was purchased BECAUSE it allowed printing to CD/DVDs. Lightscribe is okay I guess... but...

For ease of use, price and performance... nothing bests CLONEDVD and ANYDVD. I've used several "freeware/shareware" methods in the past to rip DVDs. I've purchased several different DVD copying programs in the past to rip DVDs. The first line of this post says it all!!!! :bowdown...

same here. Our original Pioneer DVD player (7 years old, not sure which model) will only play +/- RW discs. A $200 SONY (2 years old) DVD player is very finicky about which BRANDs of DVDRWs it will play and doesn't like +R. I just bought a <$40.00 APEX DVD/VCR combo, and it plays EVERY...

Several people have suggested .iso format... I'm a hardware geek for sure, and admit that I'm not as literate in software... are there players out there that will READ an ISO and playback the file? I think the OP wants to rip his DVDs to his Hard Drive(s) and be able to play the movies...
