How do you obtain the AACS Keys?

Well, I don't think so. Look at the way all other programs work: makemkv, dvdfab, and of course libaacs (which doesn't hack anything, it relies on media keys supplied from a database created using dvdfab). All of them, including AnyDVD, rely on a database of media keys. All programs can create a...

How do you obtain the AACS Keys?

That's not entirely true. Every decryption key that encodes the disc is unique to each released disc (it's also called the "media key). The way AACS encryption works is that the media key (the decryption key) is encoded on the disc dozens or hundreds of times (once for each authorised player)...

It's free publicity for Redfox though.

    A few thoughts about piracy

TF is a love/hate thing for me too. I dislike seeing biased posts. At least 95% of Bluray rips on pirate sites are not in their original format, and transcoding can be done without the use of any BD decrypter it just requires a HDCP stripper and a recorder. I don't think you can say whether...

    Forum migration to new server

Hi guys it's been a while since I've posted here (and as you know I'm not a customer), but I just wanted to say I wish the dev team all the best of luck going forward with this. It would be really nice to see AnyDVD ported to Linux and even Mac as well (especially Linux though). What a great...

Japanese users need support BDAV on AnyDVD HD

Yes that's my understanding too - why should AnyDVD help you to pirate a movie recorded from your recording unit that you do not legally own?

Is it legal to convert rental/library DVDs into a portable format?

What have you been smoking? Fair-Use is irrelevant to non-copyrighted material. Yes it is, you haven't substantiated any of your claims - you seem to "just know". That makes sense because copyright laws are civil, not criminal. Under Australian law I'm pretty confident that ripping a movie...

    AnyDVD (HD) 6.4.0.0

Well as to your last comment: But the lies and negative commentary that is espoused concerning Slysoft are just mindboggling. There's always going to be negative comments about anything. What's remarkable is how much of the comments about Slysoft are overwhelmingly positive.

    AnyDVD (HD) 6.4.0.0

I can see why Slysoft doesn't want to talk to you then! Probably not going to happen, unless Microsoft releases a BD-drive for the XBOX. No, but BD+ was still out to be used for those months! So you cracked it 8 months after disc publishers were told how to use it, and probably like 2-3...

Is it legal to convert rental/library DVDs into a portable format?

JVC, I don't see you doing the original research required for such a task. I'm currently undertaking my own study of the Australian "Playstation Case", and I'll be explaining the conclusion of that landmark case in due time (at de-aacs.com) - the major noteworthy points that I've identified so...

    AnyDVD (HD) 6.4.0.0

Well done guys. That's not true - they can however break U.S. copyrights, and only U.S. copyrights in Antigua. This had to do with the U.S. blocking online gambling. I don't understand exactly the legal situation with the USA, but here in Australia it is a crime for any online-casino to...

Is it legal to convert rental/library DVDs into a portable format?

Based on what legal precedent, exactly? You wouldn't have the right to sell the DVD, for instance - that's an "ownership right". Somehow I don't think so... playing a movie in-store would be illegal without acquiring permission from the copyright holder to screen the film in a public area.

Is it legal to convert rental/library DVDs into a portable format?

A "Video Library" can mean a public library, free to borrow from, or a regular rental shop - or your own private collection. In any case, you can lend a movie from the "library" and charge others for the privilege of doing so. Not as similar as you may think - for instance Mod Chips are legal...

Is it legal to convert rental/library DVDs into a portable format?

Well, you can assume whatever you want, but the US law is perfectly clear: fair use no longer applies if you circumvent copy protection. Circumventing copy protection is against US law. Considering it's not legal to begin with in the USA even if you do own the disc, it's certainly not going to...

    Is this BD+ workaround possible?

An easier option would be creating/faking a bluray ISO - as long as the program doesn't know it's playing from a folder one would expect it would play the movie as expected.

    Can BD+ be cracked?

LMAO - SamuriHL - classic! :D Also, I may like to point out that BD+ can't be updated, so once it's gone it's gone! :D It's only AACS that can be "updated" through mandatory firmware upgrades. And people wonder why I don't like BD! :bang:

    Macrovision Remover

The reason why I quoted the features was because what may seem obvious to you or I may not seem obvious to everyone - and maybe Slysoft would want to consider clearer wording - that's all: Here is the thread BigBruse is referring to: Clearly showing some people are having confusion as to how...

    Macrovision Remover

Product Features Page: Now surely you'd agree that the wording "Removes analogue copy protection (Macrovision)" is not specific enough to say that it covers only DVD, and maybe that's what's causing confusion? Or... maybe AnyDVD is stabilizing the analogue feed that's being captured?
  19. D

    Can BD+ be cracked?

Well I'm guessing that some of their authoring staff can do BD+, and other's can't - it probably depends on who they give their disc for authoring to. At any rate, BD+ is just code, it'll be defeated - probably first by Slysoft, and then someone else will work out how to do it too somewhere down...

Blade runner 5 disc collectors set conversion ?
