Not sure what you actually want to do with your MKV's since you're description of "support" isn't very detailed.
If you want to convert them to MPEG2 (.vob's) the you can try ConvertXtoDVD
If you want to convert them to WMV8, WMV9 or WVC1 then use Encode360
Or do you want to convert DVD's to MKV?

i'd have thought ogg theora is a better and easier choice (for mencoder backend) than matroska.
