windows vista and transparent windows

when i first got Windows Vista, the windows for boxes were transparent at the top toolbar, allowing you to lightly see the desktop. this seems to have stopped and its now back to a solid window... any ideas how to get the transparency back?.
 
right click on your desktop, select 'personalise'. select 'window color and appearance'. Select 'open classic properties for more color oprions'. Select 'windows aero'...

and you're done
