What would you suggest,I am about to buy a new motherboard and processor.I primarly use my pc for backing up my movies and surfing the web.I am kinda partial to amd processors so any suggestions out there for a sweet motherboard and processor for around $200.00?I have a bare bones system now with a chaintech 7njl6 motherboard and amd sempron 2800 processor,a sony 820dru dvd burner,liteon combo,bfg 512 video card,ati t.v. card,2 512 sticks ddr memory.Any ideas?:agree:

When I asked myself that very question a few meonths ago... I went very old school and got 3.2 ghz P3's (hyperthreading) and ASUS P4P800-E mobos. Not great for gaming but they crunch a movie at almost drive IO speeds, and are fast enough to handle HD in the future without horking. But you prolly want something newer than that - at least duel core.

I'm not a big fan of AMD but here are some choices in your price range that will fulfill your needs.
The board that I have linked to require DDR2RAM.
Newegg has 2.3 to 2.5G AMD Athlon 63X2 CPU's for under $100.
