Hello,

I would like to buy a LiteON DVD burner, because there is much support for them, also on the Internet (region-free- and other tools, firmware, fora).

I need one that

- works with Windows XP Home SP3
- is compatible with LiteON tools, especially with the region-free tool LtnRPC (I have read not all LiteON products work with all LiteON tools)
- can handle many different formats
- can handle copy-protected CDs and DVDs
- is not too expensive ;)

What do you think is the best LiteON DVD burner?

Thank you in advance for your help and many greetings, :)

I recently bought a Plextor PX-870a DVD burner, (actually a LiteOn), and it's been working great. It wass $60, but could cost less depending on where you get it. Can't say how good or bad it is yet as I haven't had it all that long, but it it's half as good as my last LiteOn, I'll be happy, that one lasted 4 years or more. My opinion is if LiteOn feels confident enough to stick a Plextor label on their drive, it must be for a reason.
