If you try to purchase and the transaction fails, you'll get an 'error 66'. There can be many reasons for a declined transaction (=error 66):

Card Issuing Bank
  • The card issuing bank doesn't allow payments to foreign countries (China) at all.
Solution: call your bank and ask them to allow foreign payments (to China).
  • The automatic fraud detection system of the card issuing bank identifies the transaction as fraudulent, raises a red flag, and rejects the transaction.
Solution: call your bank and ask them to allow payments with the billing descriptor we notified you about in an automatic email.
Warning! If your transaction got declined because the bank's fraud detection raised a red flag and you keep on trying to purchase, your credit card will very likely get cancelled and next time you try to pay the check in a restaurant, you'll blame us. So please do yourself a favour: after 2 declined order attempts, you better call your bank to clarify what's going on.
  • No funds on credit card
    Solution: top up your card
If you called your card issuing bank and they don't even know about the transaction, then somebody else raised a red flag. The RedFox shop is not directly connected with your card issuing bank, the connection goes through Visa/Mastercard network, which is very similar to the Internet infrastructure with 'routers' (Acquirer) in between. Each Acquirer has its own fraud detection system. Most are based on Maxmind's technology. Maxmind has a huge database of 'bad' email addresses, 'bad' IP addresses, 'bad' credit card numbers, and many other 'bad' data. Based on Maxmind's rating, your transaction will raise a red flag.

Red Flag in VISA/MC Network
  • The IP address you are using
    a) is a proxy/VPN/Tor IP address
    b) is an IP address or part of an IP address range that has been used in the past for fraudulent activity, or a purchase with a doubtful chargeback afterwards.
Solution: Just try to order again, we'll take care of this automatically (see below 'RedFox Payment Assistance').
  • The email address you are using
has been used in the past for fraudulent activity, or a purchase with a doubtful chargeback afterwards.
Solution: Try to order again with a different email address
  • The name of credit card holder ist not valid.
Solution: dont' use '-', 'XXX', and fake names shorter than 3 characters
  • Too many order attempts: after your transactions got declined several times in a row, all basic data (credit card#, email address, IP addres, ..) gets blacklisted for at least 24h.
Solution: wait 24h and/or contact our support
RedFox Payment Assistance
From the third order attempt with same credit card on, or if your transaction very likely will not pass (bad email/IP-address), the order will set on hold for review by a RedFox staff member before we 'inject' the transaction into Visa/Mastercard network. This can take from 5 minutes up to 12 hours, we have to contact our PSP (and wait for feedback) to make sure, your transaction will get accepted.

Thank you for your patience!
