Do NOT buy or use Verbatim Life Series discs!!!

Refer here: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=41252

Make sure you buy what they are advertising. Verbatim is now selling Life Series discs which come in packaging with a lot of white and it says Life Series on it. The discs are made by CMC and are not worthy of Verbatim's name. Verbatim is sadly following a trend.

The reason I'm posting this is because I've known people who saw flyers recently for Verbatims on sale at places like Best Buy with a picture of the old packaging of the good discs but the store was actually selling the new Life Series. Don't buy Life Series.

When I referred to the white on the label I meant all the white that can be seen in the image below. It doesn't matter if the discs are DVD+R or DVD-R.

Do not buy these discs. Do not recommend these discs. I view these as no better than Memorex blanks and that's bad. Buy good Verbatim discs online when you see a sale on a site like NewEgg with free shipping or another reputable site like Meritline.com! I buy my blanks from NewEgg and pay less when I break it down to the cost for each blank disc. I pay no more than 20-22 USD for 100 blanks including shipping. Two 50 packs of these junk Life Series from Best Buy would total 25.98 USD, plus sales tax, plus the gas you used driving to the store. I pay less, have them delivered to my doorstep, and I get way better discs.

I always buy these 16x rated DVD+R SL Verbatim blanks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817507003. They are MID Taiwan. They are MCC-004. Work beautifully. No bad burns and no discs going bad over time.

It pains me to say anything negative about Verbatim but this is just pathetic and they are following the trend of other companies. It's just really sad and I expect all stores like Fry's, Best Buy, Target, etc, who might carry Verbatim to be moved to only carrying the Life Series blanks.
