Upgraded to AnyDVD 8 and now it says my Lifetime LIC expired???

I purchased a LIFETIME LIC back in 2013. This AM AnyDVD had a popup saying there was a new version, so I clicked it just like every other time. I installed the new version (v8). Once it installed a window pops up telling me my Lic has expired.

How can I get this fixed?

I purchased a lifetime lic for less than 3 years of use?

If version 8 was going to nullify my Lic, then there SHOULD have been a WARNING before letting me install it informing me that my LIFETIME LIC will be worthless.
 
Will people that purchased a LIFETIME LIC be given ANY sort of DISCOUNT on the price of a new lic?
 
There is no conspiracy to separate you from your money. You're obviously very busy living your life not to have known what happened, so I'll summarize.

To make a long story short, the US government finally put enough pressure on the Antiguan government that Slysoft was forced to cease operations. Slysoft is no more, so your Slysoft license will not allow you to get updates from Redfox. The owner of Slysoft has nothing to do with Redfox; he took his money and moved on. Blame our government and the ridiculous DMCA if you have to blame someone. Former Slysoft employees got together and formed Redfox to continue this wonderful product. I am glad they did, and I'm happy to support their work by purchasing a new license.

Personally, I don't know how the devs can offer AnyDVDHD at anything other than a subscription license. It's a product that requires continual support and updates to function.

You can loose your condescending tone jackwad. I was fully aware that Refox took over the product.

What I was NOT aware of was that my Lifetime Lic would not work on version 8.
 
After May 31, 2016 is when things may get interesting for those who don't upgrade. If the old program can't access the decryption database or if there are new protections, you won't be able to access the database. You can use the link to revert to 7.6.9.5 while you make a purchasing decision.
 
Rms8 watch the language. Insults will not be tolerated.

Wrong section, moved to license. The anydvd sections are reserved for disc problems only.

As far as warnings go, there are warnings in the download page and the download stickies that slysoft licenses do not work with v8 and above.

Some people read things differently of course. I didn't really see an issue with the reply from mitchedo. Your reply however was inappropriate for sure. Mitchedo kindly laid out the reason for what your question was. As you stated you were aware of RedFox taking over the project. Seems hard to understand how you missed that the new version would require a new License and the old Lifetime licenses would not work any longer. With that said it does make sense, at least for a while, to include a pop up when installing any 8.x version warning the user that a new License would be required to extend it's use beyond the 21 day trial period and that Slysoft licenses are no longer valid in 8.x versions. Maybe if you make a new post requesting this the developers could take it into consideration. What they won't do is debate why your Slysoft LTL is no longer valid and you have to purchase a new license going forward.

There is a note about it on the download page:
For RedFox AnyDVD HD you need to purchase a RedFox license key, SlySoft licenses are not supported. Purchase a license key now

I know how you feel about it. I purchased a lifetime license just this past January, and now I'm required to purchase another on to continue using the product. I understand that they are a different company not associated with SlySoth (other than the product line offered), but I would hope that for good customer service, they would have some type of method to honor at least recent lifetime license purchasers from SlySoft. Maybe a prorated yearly subscription, like 3 year for those that purchased within the last 6 months, 2 years for those 6 months to a year ago, or something like that. Maybe even just a healthy discount (50%?).

It's not their fault that SlySoft was shutdown, but a little incentive to those that were using the product before would go a long way to keeping many of those that have just recently started using their products under SlySoft.

If you indeed purchased your LTL in January of 2016 then you do qualify for a 50% discount on your a new RedFox LTL. Just see here

You have to contact RedFox support to get this honored. I suspect they will need proof of purchase date. It may take a while since they are processing many requests for this currently. Be patient.

on that page where it has aDVDHD it clearly states that SLYSOFT license will work FOREVER for LTL or til expiry up for timed for ALL VERSIONS up to 7.6.9.5. Plus it has been discussed ad nauseum on here since the Fox found a new borough.
(Search is one of the many great features here at the RedFox Forums try it out)
Ver 8 is the First official RedFox release and MUST have a RedFox license to work (again that search thingy is an awesome tool).

I don't visit this forum unless I encounter a problem. Regarding verbiage on the download page, my fault for assuming things had changed. I did the exact same thing I have done for the last 3 years. Notified of an update, download and install. Done.

As I stated, had a notification of some kind had alerted me to deviate from the norm, I would have known of the discrepancy and looked at the forum before I realized the issue.
 
Okay, So it appears that I would get a 20% discount since I already purchased a LIFETIME lic.

How do I take advantage of this 20%? I read the link, but it does not explain how one receives that discount. My info is in the OP.
 
The 20% one is automatically applied through a global store discount. It's only the first 2 options that need to contact support.

The 20% off 2-month promotional discount is automatically applied when making a purchase. It is a blanket discount for everyone, new users and SlySoft license holders who purchased before December 2015.

I agree with you.
The license for the Redfox product is extremely expensive. And then I wonder - seeing that its "legal framework" and geographic situation is pretty much the same as Slysoft was, I would say one can ask what the chances are of it also being closed down. In the exchange rate context of where I live a license is almost 2 000 bucks. Too expensive, sorry.
