I am using Game Jackal v4.1.0.8 on Windows XP SP3 (32-bit).
I have upgraded from v4.0.2.8 IIRC (kept forgetting about updating...).

When I try to launch the GJ Manager I get this error message (each time exactly the same, i.e. addresses of violation and read were the same):

"Unable to connect to the Game Jackal server. Please contact Support. Error - An exception was raised on the server: Access violation at address 004073B5 in module 'Server.exe'. Read of Address 00000004"

Or the Manager.exe process just sits doing nothing (0 CPU usage, ~7MB of memory used) and the cursor changes to the one with a little hourglass.

I have tried:
  • Restarting the server service
  • Uninstall -> Reboot -> Install -> Reboot
  • Installing to another directory
  • Installing after cleaning registry
  • And pretty much every combination of the above...
Obviously it didn't work.

I've checked that the Server.exe is in the process list (in Task manager).

The previous version I had (v4.0.2.8) was working fine.

I have attached 3 logs: Server, GJDiag and Server Connection Error
