Got to say once I enabled enhanced mode the movie allied with brad pit looks nice. Save as youtube hdr and netflix hdr too. Think hdr is going to grow on me.149101679747450227150.jpg 1491016837460-1799304150.jpg 1491016892037-579338060.jpg

HDR10 Enabled on XBR850C 65 inch sony. This is awesome. Keeping the Samsung uhd player and going to start buying uhd movies. The pictures don't cover what I'm seeing

Make sure you save by pressing export. Then set levels to default and save as export again and call one hdr.reg other bluray.reg simply load the reg file the mpc with type of movie. Be warned hdr in 8 bit produces banding. Hdr in 10 bit has none! That's why hdr spec says 10 bit is a must. can still be 4 2 0 color.

My samsung ubd 8500 supports enternal dtshd master and true hd decoding to 7.1 lpcm thru hdmi so I ordered this to extract to my 7.1 denon amp to get 4k audio at 7.1

Way cheaper than to buy a new av receiver! Samsung supports lower hdcp version on the dedicated 2nd hdmi port so 4k video issue won't be an issue as only the audio is going to this lpcm decoder and tv is fed the first hdmi port which is hdcp 2.2 compatible. My pc already does dtshd ma 7.1 in powerdvd but this is the only way to do it via hardware uhd 4k player. Ill update this post after I test it.

My Sony XBR-65X850C with hdr which actually works after latest firmware update and enabling enhanced mode on the hdmi port that the samsung connects to. My rx470 card is also set to the second port on my tv in enhanced mode for hdmi 2.0 as well. Enhanced mode means to switch from hdcp 1.4 to 2.2 on this tv.

Update. Just bought assin's creed and compared hdmi 4k uhd port to mpc hdmi and found EXACT HDR settings. 14 contrast 14 saturation 0 hue 0 brightness. Set this and your hdr on the pc will match exactly on the uhd player. Just make sure to set them back when watching a bluray as the bluray will look like shit.

For those of u with Sony Xbr HDR 4K sets great news u can play back your HDR UHD files and not have to worry about cinavia!!!!IMG_9368.JPGthis is true USB
10bit 2020 HEVC MP4 h265 file

Just picked it up today..... When I get home weekend I'll test out HDMI internal dtshdma and truhd 7.1 output on the UHD player into this device and see if it does breakout lpcm 7.1 over HDMI. If this works I've basically got UHD opoi type setup. This will save me huge money having to buy HDMI amp.

Buyer beware. Lpcm only does 5.1 even though 7.1 source is output. So don't waste your money.

I'm purchasing a 7.1 dtsx atmos amp that supports 7.1 dtsdmaster and truhd7.1 flac and all those formats.

Going to cost 600 bucks but will work with UHD player and HDR TV and my hdcp 2.2 HDMI 2.0 AMD RX card for PC.
