trying to copy PS2 Madden NFL dvd

I've got a scratchy PS2 Madden NFL disc. My PC disc reader seems OK at reading it, so I thought I'd make a copy so I can play it in my PS2. I'm using CopyCD which claims to be able to copy DVDs. It only gives me the dvd option (no protected game option) and the copy doesn't work with the ps2. What did I do wrong?
1. CloneCD version 5.3.1.0
2. MS Win Version 5.1 with service pack 2.
3. No Virtual drives.
4.Hide cd-r media selected.
5. No packet writing software.
6. It's a PS2 DVD
7. PS2 Madden NFL street
9. DVD
10. USA I think
11. Intel Pentium III processor
12. Sony DVD RW DRU-810A
MS Driver version 5.1.2535.0
13. Windows Live OneCare Version 1.24.5474.0
14. DVD copies OK but will not work in PS2
17. SONY DVD-R
18. 8x
