Trouble writing to dvd-r

I have not used clone dvd for awhile but tried to backup a dvd and am having trouble...using Sony DVD-R 16x (burning at 8x) keep getting "Writedvd 10 11 W2 error"...NEC dvd writer 6450 updated to 6500 firmware...I am posting the limits as prescribed from the instructions

1. Try Taiyo Yuden Premium or Verbatim blank media

2. If you have an ide burner and are using XP, click this:

Other than that you may want to try another burner to see if the problem persists.
