I am shopping for a new desktop for Blue-Ray video ripping and editing and would like to purchase a desktop that will provide good service for a few years. Any recommendations concerning CPU, RAM, HDD size, Graphic Board, etc. would be appreciated.

If you are encoding, re-encoding or transcoding then the more processor cores the better (assuming you have software that will use the extra cores). Going from quad (4) to hexa (6) core could cut the processing time significantly. I'd recommend a socket 2011 mainboard with the cheaper ($569) unlocked hexa-core Sandy Bridge E processor, the i7-3930K. I see one of these in my future.
