I have a 2 part movie that I am joining together with Freemake Video Converter. However I would like to trim the "Intermission" scene from the end of Part 1.

What do you suggest for a good and possibly free solution?

Yeah... it's called Freemake. ;)

When you add your clips, to the list, there's a green button to the right of each clip that looks like a play button and scissors. Click it and you can edit out what you don't want accordingly.
