What do I do about the sony dvd movies that wont even be recognized by dvd shrink

You could forget about using Shrink and move on to CloneDVD (like i did ;)) or you can rip the files to your HD with the AnyDVD ripper then import them into Shrink.

shrink to the garbage! NOT

Shrink did wonderful with THE MESSENGER so now what?;)

I haven't found any that Shrink won't work on.

Shrink cannot handle these and possibly more titles:

-Daddy's Little Girl
-Happily N'Ever After
-Grudge 2
-Saw 3
-Marie Antoinette
-Running with Scissors
-Open Season
-Zoom: Academy for Superheroes
-Stranger Than Fiction
-Holiday
-Rocky Balboa
-Casino Royale
-The Pursuit Of Happyness
-All The King's Men

See Webslinger's excellent post, also linked above: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=3992

CloneDVD of course :agree:. It handles everything without a problem. Don't get me wrong, Shrink is an excellent program, but with the new Sony discs confusing it, it takes much less time to make a backup and for me, time is a factor. The whole point of this thread was to give advice on how to copy Sony movies with Shrink and both myself and Webslinger have provided information on how to do that. I also provided a list of movies that require you to follow the advice given. I am not trying to force my preference of how i back up my movies and im sorry if i offended you in making you write in all caps.

pedroggg,
You can still use Shrink to do those movies but you must rip the DVD to the HD first then use Shrink to process the files. That is what Crusher was saying to you in the 2nd post. Shrink can still do the movies but it can not do it on the fly.

Shrink is an old unsupported program but it cannot handle all the discs. Thats a fact. It works on some. But CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD work on all, and if it has a problem it is fixed in a matter of hours. This is also a fact.:agree:

Forum Moderator,

What does the inability of the Shrink software program to process the Commercial DVD Movie Tiles listed in posting #6 have to do with the SlySoft AnyDVD software program?

Wouldn’t this entire posting be better suited for discussion in the “Third Party Products” Forum instead of the AnyDVD Forum?

Coaster

No. Refer the initial post in this thread. Erik is likely using Anydvd with Shrink. Consequently, with some Sony and Lionsgate movies Anydvd ripper is required with Shrink.

The question being asked really is, "How do I use Shrink and Anydvd to backup newer Sony releases?"

The thread belongs in this forum Period

In post #6, Crusher is explaining, basically, that Shrink cannot handle those titles without Anydvd ripper.

The solution has already been given, and as I see nothing further can be gained by having this thread open, I will close it.

Thread closed. :policeman:
