Saved! - error anydvd can't crack all css keys on disk

insert disk, error can't crack all keys - here is the log file.. on 8.1.5.0 will also test on 8.1.5.2

Your region isn't set, try exiting out of AnyDVD (right click on the AnyDVD icon and choose 'exit') and then set it in Windows
 
this does bring up an interesting question... why does setting the region matter? as I've had no problems ripping many other DVD & Bluray disks without setting this?
(for the record I did upgrade to 8.1.5.2 & set the region to 1 on the drive & that seemed to have resolved the problem) -thanks
 
When the drive region is unset it forces the CSS decryption to be done by brute force. This can sometimes fail for technical reasons. The process works better when the drive region is set.
 
the drive region also doens't have any impact at all on blu-rays. they don't use CSS for which a set region is used. They use AACS which is totally different. With an unset region (regardless of the anydvd version), sooner or later you WILL have DVD decryption issues
