Ripping "new" movies..

Hi, I have been a loyal fan of your products for years..I never had a problem until two weeks ago..Now it won't Rip the newer movies.It starts ripping and gets to 80 or 90 percent, I get a message that a un-specifed error has happened..I am not very savy with my computer so , I wonder if HOLLYWOOD put a new filter or (other) on them so we can't copy movies .Would a RECOVERY help? Please help? Thanks, Mrs. Zabicki ..
 
I'd need to see that error at least, but I'm pretty sure, the "new Hollywood filter" is simply a dying drive, that needs to be replaced.
It is definitely no copy protection causing this.
