Can it be implemented that when ripping HD-DVD films you can choose a format to save it to?

My example would be a .wmv file as i would like to be able to stream them to my xbox360

that isnt a rip. you want to reencode the movie to wmv. ripping it will only make a copy of the hddvd on the hard drive, almost the same as copy and pasting the dvd from windows explorer.

you could try something like clonedvd mobile, although at the moment im not sure if it supports hd formats and there is no official wmv profile.
