I cannot find the optimum-resolution for iPod classic. According Apple's technical manual it has to be 320 x 240 pixels, 163 dpi.
With Colen Mobile it is only possible to choose 320 x 160.
What can I do (I am beginner!) to set the correct resolution?

Which profile are you using? The 5 gen. (hires) seems to be the closest to the new Classic Model. It's funny, though, I've never seen 320x160 offered as a resolution; however it depends on the original source material. A fullscreen DVD will generally produce a square-pixel video at 640x480 (or 320x240), and an anamorphic (widescreen) DVD will result in a 640x360 (320x180) video. This is pretty standard, and I have no idea why a regular DVD would generate something at a 2:1 aspect ratio.

Usually the drop-down menu for the resolution selection will offer other options than just the first one you see. Personally, I find 640x480/360 is the best option to use if you're planning to output the videos to a TV or something using the a/v cables.
