OK I have turned anydvd hd off and rebooted the PC only to try to play this DVD so the region on the drive is set but always fails for some reason. I get this in windows media player :

I thought I already set the region but apparently not. I went into properties on this drive and it states region 1 but the anydvd info window states region 0 region not set.

Video DVD (or CD) label: SC30NNW1

Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1 4!

Warning: .bup file location is wrong, .bup processing disabled!

Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Am I missing something here? Should I just uninstall the drive in the device manager and reboot?

i. Right click the fox on your toolbar. Exit Anydvd
ii. Click start. Right click on "My computer"--->select "properties".
iii.Click on the 'Hardware' tab--->click the 'device manager' button.
iv. Open the dvd/cdrom branch---> right click on your optical drive
v. Click "properties".
vi. You should have a region tab. From there you can select a region.
vii. Select region 1
viii. Start Anydvd
