I bought a dvd writer and it is compatable with most DVD types. However in properties it says it is a RAM DVD. As a consequence, I suppose, anydvd cant find it. . Is this so? Does slysoft work with this kind of dvd writer? Or do I take it back to Fry's posthaste and get a dvd rw? I don't want to do that but as it is it is only a good paper weight.

AnyStream is having some DRM issues currently, Netflix is not available in HD for the time being.

Knowing the exact brand and model would be useful for people to help.
If the drive handles DVD+R, DVD-R, and DVD-RAM then there shouldn't be an issue with using it with AnyDVD.

I have a Sony DVD RW DRU-180A that I use as a DVD reader and for CDs. It shows in My Computer as a DVD-RAM drive and can be used for that but also reads/writes +/-R, +/-R DL and others. Are you basing your assumption with a blank disc in the drive or an original? If you have more than one drive, are you checking all tabs?
