I just bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on PC DVD.

Will Game Jackal help me avoid having to install this crap software called 'Steam'?

I cannot install steam as I keep getting 'Error failed to create key'. I have no intention of playing online or multiplayer, I just want to play the damn single player campaign mode.

I'm about ready to snap. What ever happened to the days where you just entered a key code and ran the game.
 
No... if it's a steam game, you need to install steam.
 
Bummer.

I ended up getting it working by installing Steam on another computer, then coping the folder onto this machine.

Its a shame you need Steam to run this game. It almost started to download the game rather than install off the DVD!
