Quality Constantly Changing Throughout A Season

True, in a different topic Prospere said something along the lines of "then i'll keep looking" when someone beat you to it ;)

just wanted to confirm that im getting the same results (still on 1.0.9.1). which i wouldnt even notice if it werent for this thread. unfortunately ive deleted all the files and logs. but i remember i tried getting a couple of miami vice episodes from prime and even though bitrates would seem almost the same, same lenght episodes would have huge differences in size. episode 2 was 1.76gb and then episode 4 was like 4.06gb. same resolution (1080p), lenghts (approx 48min runtime) and audio (128kbps AAC). totally weird. hopefully devs figure it out. cheers.

Can you post the "Mediainfo" info specs of the files?

Can you post the "Mediainfo" info specs of the files?

as i said, i deleted the files, but can try downloading again if need be. i checked bitrate in potplayer and they were on par, 12000k vs 14000k but file sizes were 2x. will download again and upload logs and info.

Ahh, I read it and only *thought (brain fart) you deleted all of the logs only lol. My bad, ok, whenever you get a chance.

bumping this with new info. this keeps on happening. fresh example. allo allo from prime, season 5. both episodes are 24mins long. episode 3 is 600kbps and episode 6 is 1100kbps. same audio bitrate. difference in file size? 90mb! why is this happening? tried restarting anystream, computer, tried different audio track bitrates, thinking maybe AAC track is the culprit. nope, same thing happens with EAC3. then i tried different resolutions, but nope.

next example, crime story from prime. season 1. although anystream perfectly cut out the commercials (impressive, kudos to developers), same thing happens. both episodes are 45mins long. episode 6 has bitrate of 1400kbps, episode 5 2100kbps. same audio bitrate. difference in size? 170mb! huh? weird. like, totally weird.

i get it that VBR video file depicting a static object vs depicting for instance leaves blowing in the wind will have different file size, but this can not be it. for comparison sake, i ripped some files from NBC a while ago with digger. every episode had the exact file size. 1.4gb. select bitrate, select resolution, et voila. mind you, digger is not a recorder, it actually dowloaded .ts and from there it converted it to .mp4.

anyways, would be great to hear from developers, since this is kinda a big thing imo. i attached all four log files. correction. dont have crime story logs, but can try ripping again and providing them if need be. but, allo allo ones are here. thanks!

This is happening with me. Using 1.1.0.2
Uncle on NFlix episodes have massive inconstancies with file size and video bitrate. One episode is 750MB then the next episode is 1.2GB. Video bitrate ranges from 3500kbps to 5800kbps.

This is happening with me. Using 1.1.0.2
Uncle on NFlix episodes have massive inconstancies with file size and video bitrate. One episode is 750MB then the next episode is 1.2GB. Video bitrate ranges from 3500kbps to 5800kbps.

<snip>

What bitrates do you get in a web browser (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+D)?

Episode 1 is showing 3485kbps so that looks to be correct or am I missing something? If it is correct then what is NFlix playing at haha.

Sounds like PTEO

this is way too big of a difference... and yes, i have 1 Gbps, hardware, subtitles on/off (doesn't matter)
same episode works fine grabbing manually and comes with a higher bitrate.
