I wonder if the NEW sony disks have a new bee copy protection that makes them INVISIBLE to the machine after shes been put through the tasks at hand?? anyone else have this happen to them ?? First off tried to open it with dvd shrink 3.2 and thats when she became invisble to the machine,,SOOO then I tried to just rip it with ANYDVD and then drag the main movie over to the left as before but she again said theres no movie there to use?? Theres no files available at this time and eror has happened and dvd shrink is sorry.....HOW ABOUT IT ANY BODY KNOW HOW TO GET AROUD THIS?? got Ticked off and just went out and bought it for $14.88 at WALMARTS. but it seems this is happening more in the past two weeks the first was casino royale. finally got it using the later of the two..ANY HELP WILL BE PASSED ON AND REMEMBERED in depth..  .........HELP..........

Pursuit of Happyness was tougher to back-up than Rocky Balboa. I tried the method of using AnyDvd to rip to HD, but ran into a problem when running shrink to compress.

So I tried just running Roxio's Easy DVD copy with AnyDVD it copies and compresses at the same time. It creates a 4.33 GB folder and so far works fine.:agree:

Knothead55 .........If you don't have Clone DVD, try DVDFab or RipIt4Me. Either of those will do Whole Movie or Movie Only.

THE Problem is with ANYDVD she sees it and does her thing and then the whole movie becomes unable to be seen by anything that is tried to rip shrink convert anything ..It has got to be in the protection package of SONY'S NEW NIGHT MARE. no matter what I do once anydvd gets a hold of it she does her thang just great and then its the same thing over again and another 33 minutes is shot in the bottom. how can I disable anydvd for just one time then reactivate her for later on things I have never tried the safe mode but whats this all about? ONE MORE TIME NOTHIN WORKS AFTER ANYDVD GETS DONE WITH IT.........

If you just want the main movie, try this:
Right click on Anydvd on the toolbar, and select "rip-video dvd to harddisk". After you're finished ripping you should be able to import the main movie only into Shrink (Click "reauthor" and then browse to the location of the video_ts folder. Then drag and drop the main movie over to the left). Generally speaking, if Shrink gives you an error message about the file size being too big, you can simply ignore it and continue.

If that doesn't work for you, right click on Anydvd and select "exit". Then use whatever you want.

If you want to know what safe mode is, simply right click on the box and read the description.

i had the same problem with almost all sony disk recently i have tried different software because anydvd update still didn't and it usually work after an update. So i try new software called dvdfab trial and it seems to work but it actually tells you to turn off anydvd doesn't need it. So what i do is is chose just movie and put it on hd and then use dvdshrink in deep mode i try to make it as small possible without any compression put in a blank disc and that's it

This has been discussed on a multitude of threads on this site. The problem is not AnyDVD. AnyDVD is a decrypter and that's what it does. The problem is all the extra junk that Sony adds to the disc and corrupts the structure that Shrink doesn't like. There are numerous ways around the issue using AnyDVD.

Fab has it's own decrypter so AnyDVD isn't needed at all. Fab will do Whole Movie, Custom or Movie Only. Shrink wasn't necessary either.
