problems with Clonecd

I have the same problem as the original poster. Problem started after the update. In my case the CloneCD opens but everything is 'greyed' out and I have to use Task Manager to close it. It doesn't respond to any right or left mouse clicks even a right click on the task bar to close it shows no options.

When I run the register program for CCD it fails. I have the User Account Control turned off as it drives me crazy and should have full admin rights.
Any suggestions? All other Slysoft programs work ok.

Do you get an error message? If so, what is the full error message?

First a window pops up staying the program has failed and windows is seeking a solution then when you close that another little box pops up that says:

    ********************************
    Registration of

    E:\...<disk location of key>...\Program_Keys\Key.CloneCD

    has failed!
    ********************************

I'm running Vista Ultimate with user control turned off.
Windows Live OneCare (security, AV, etc.) but I turned off both its firewall and the rest of it and I still get the error message. Actually, I've tried all the hints mentioned that I've found (lots of links to different messages) which does get confusing since they all over both forums so I may have missed one.

This is not new and I noticed it at least a month or so ago but I rarely have a need for CCD so just let it go. Is this indicative of a "hacked key" that someone else had? And why just CCD and not the others in the suite? I don't use any file sharing and my key data is very secure and not saved in emails.

Have you tried installing Clonedvd 5.3.0.5?

It's possible this is a blacklisted key issue, but I'm not sure.

Zebadee could probably fix this problem in 5 seconds. I don't use Vista.

    Hi :)
    Welcome onboard.
I can see no reason for your problems with CloneCD jerryel.
Other than maybe the key needs unblocking.
Right click key > goto > Properties > If you have a Blocked tab click & unblock.
If you haven't got this Blocked tab just check Securities to see if all the functions are allowed.
Failing this maybe your key got blacklisted. If this is the case you need the report to section at the slysoft site.

The key in storage was blocked but only the CCD key and not the others. That's strange! But anyway, that was not the problem. It still doesn't work and I did try the beta version mentioned and the same with it. I've uninstalled/installed it many times and it still does the same thing...

...When I open it, everthing is greyed out and it won't even close and I have to use Task Manager to close it. The text does show up when I run the mouse over the different tasks so it seems to be "alive" but in a coma. The key does register (after I unblocked it) but the program just won't work.

What could be the reason it's all greyed out and won't even close?
Even with the key problem it should work as trialware shouldn't it?
If so I'm not sure the key is the problem especially now that it says it registered.

    1. Can't do Step 3 with Vista.

Here is what I see in Device Manager...

    Here's what's in the registry...

    Note: I don't see anything about "upper" filters in that section.;

    2. Don't know what you mean by "blocked" but if you mean blocked by user or to Internet access then the answer is no. I checked the security tab and it is no different than for the other Slysoft programs.

I'm not sure what you want me to do. The links you post are full of links to another post and so on. It's very confusing. Perhaps you could explain what we're looking for and the name of the suggested program to help find what we're looking for.

I still don't understand the status of CCD when I open it.
Is it stopping before fully opening or is something stopping it from operating?
Does it think I have no CD drives so the tasks are grayed out?

For the record I have 2 DVD and one CD drive. The drive I normally use is a Lite-on External USB because it always is error free. The companion Lite-On internal (same drive different lot) occassionally makes coasters. I rarely use the CDRW except to make on the fly CD copies.

Use filter driver load order. Select your burner. Click "clipboard". Paste the contents into your next post.
Your lowerfilters look fine. I want to see if you have any upperfilters.

If you don't (and it seems like you don't based on that screenshot), I'm out of suggestions. I don't use Vista either, so I'm not sure why Clonecd's options are greyed out for you--unless your license key is blacklisted for some reason.

By the way, you did try installing 5.3.0.5, right?

Yes, I did try 5.3.0.5 and it is still installed.
How do I contact Slysoft to see if the key is locked out?

    Thanks,

Hmm . . . Can you unplug this drive, and then try to run Clonecd?
