problem with external drive and Anydvd

Was there ever a resolution to this problem?

I have the same issue, just as described. My brand new external HP dvd1040 encounters the same issue trying to rip a DVD. My internal HP dvd640 has no problem.

I have disabled Nero burning in shrink.

The AnyDVD ripper dies too.

Region code is properly set.

Have you tried enabling safe mode in Anydvd?

The issue may be specific to your external drive.
