Problem ripping a Blu-ray

And I am not sure but when I bought my Pc I read somthing about the Liton LH-2E1S and I think that was just able to read blu ray discs it was not able to burn on them?!

My bad. You're absolutely right. I was looking at the read specs by mistake.

Ok I looked a little bit around on the websites of liteon. I found the product specs here http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH-2B1S/product_spec/LH-2B1S spec.zip and they give no comment on the doublelayer support. Than I looked into the manual here http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/O...RW BD Half-High/user_manual/en_gb/English.zip and there they say it is able to write on doublelayer media this manual is according to the date from the 09/21/2006.Ok my drive was produced in october 2006(according to my box). So it should be able to do it. But then my confusion starts I found three different gift box pictures http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH-2B1S/gift_box_picture/LH-2B1S box II.jpg this one where they only talk from BD-R SL than this one http://www.liteonit.eu/eu/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH-2B1S/gift_box_picture/LH-2B1S box II.jpg where they talk from SL and DL support for burning and my box on which just stand write BD nothing with SL and DLbox can bee seen here(not where you can see the whole box, only where you can see the sides of the box http://www.cdfreaks.com/reviews/Lite-On-LH-2B1S-Blu-Ray-Disc-Triple-Writer-Review/Introduction.html). So what heppend did they just change the boxes or the drives in it?
Can anybody help us? Does anybody has the drive? And tried to burn BD-R DL? Slysoft do you have such a drive and tested this?(please post when was your drive produced.

I checked out your links. Very interesting.

My drive was manufactured in November 2006. Sony BD writers have always supported DL. I can't believe that Liteon put out a drive that can't do the same.

I think they're giving us the runaround.

Like you said, we need some help here.

Another thing which makes me believe that the drive should support BD-R DL media is that CDfreaks.com say it supports it(you can read it from the link above). They didn't test ist, but they say that their drive is able to an that drive was has a serial number which is only 200 higer than mine.....

Not sure why the Sony writer would have relevence to the liteon, This time round Sony are teamed up with NEC to bring out Blu-ray writers, under the name Optiarc, and the funny thing is when you take off the casing, I think the chips are made by Panasonic
