Hi everybody. I have got a big problem with ANYDVDHD. I read in the forum that I sould use the AnyDVDripper for ripping Blu-rays. Ok so far so good. My Pc has an Intel Core2Quad a Geforce8800GTX my Mainbord is a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe and my optical drive is a Liteon LH-2B1S with the latest firmware(AL06) my OS is Vista64bit(I tried everything wich is mentioned here in the forum to fix Vista problems). Ok when I try to rip A Blu ray for example Casino Royale the Anydvdripper sarts ripping perfect. But the suddenly the the speed goes down to 0.00 and also 0 seconds this happens at different percentages I tried about 20 times. The disc is brand new and has no visble scratches, also the same happens with Superman Returns.(I don't own more Blu-rays)(The disc is region B) The pc doesn't react anymore(you can move the mouse, but you cannot open a program anymore you can't even shut down). When I don't reset the PC the Pc shuts down around half an hour later and boots new. What can I do?Please help me Slysoft I tried everything.
By the while If I rip it with the windows explorer(anydvd running) it rips just fine with no problems, and I can watch the Blu-ray without any issues.
Just for the record: what you read about having to use the AnyDVD ripper is basically true, but the latest few releases of AnyDVD HD don't require this anymore (you can use d&d with the Explorer just as well). It still is recommended to use the AnyDVD ripper, basically because it will at all times know exactly, which files to extract. We will look into your problem though...
Oh ok I didn't knew that with the Windows Explorer.Good to know.Thank you It came something to my mind.About 2 months ago I had a similar error. AnyDVD was running and I ripped somthing with CloneDVD. I wanted to creat an Iso with CloneDVD.It hang up 2 times one when I read in the files, and then when CloneDVD burned the files. But after a second try everything was nice?! so I didn't think about that anymore.Perhaps it helps you?
Hi Peer good that you are online. I have got a question is it nromal that The Anydvd Driver is not signed(says Vista)and when i look into the ststus window of my Drive stands the drive works perfect Couldn't start a driver related driver? Whatever that means please help me
The AnyDVD driver is signed (or should be). If it isn't, something is wrong. Try to reinstall AnyDVD (use the newest beta).
I installed AnyDVD now 3 times in a row cleand everything with the CCleaner and i use AnyDVD 6.1.6.4. And when I click on my drive and say show me driver details the anydvddriver has now green thing in front of it, like the normal cdrom driver from Windows. What shall I do?send you a screenshot?
Ah, I understand. No, that's perfectly normal, the driver is signed, but not WHQL verified. To check the digital signature, right click AnyDVD.sys, Properties, Digital Signatures.
Ok thank you James.Learned somthing new. But what can I do about my problem? Can I help you with something?I read I sould post the lower filter satus? here is mine if it helps you: Filter Check Tool v3.4 No Upper Filters found. I have this drive as well and in the past I have had problems using it with certain SATA controllers. Which controller do you have it connected to? Do you have any problems burning DVDs with this drive?
I did only burn one DVD with that drive and that was fine, but with CDs I some problems(burning not reading). To be honest I don't know which SATA controller it is?!Sorry for the noob question but where can I look it up?What did you do with the drive, that it work better?
Look at your motherboard manual and see which connectors go with which controller. It's available online from ASUS. If your LH-2B1S is connected to the Intel controller then I would hazard a guess that it might be the source of your problems. While you're at the ASUS site also check to see that you have the latest bios and driver updates.
Roog I believe you are right. My drive was connected to the intel SATA controller.I updated my BIOS and connected it to another SATA an the ripping of Casino Royal worked really fine.Thank you man
Cool! I'm glad it worked. I have Intel motherboards so I contacted their support about this problem 3 months ago. I'm still waiting to hear from them. My guess is that many currently available SATA controllers are designed primarily for hard drives. I really like Silicon Image controllers because they seem to have anticipated this problem. They also make a great little add-on IDE controller. You can use more than one of these, connecting one DVD burner to each, and get full throttle multiple disc burns.
OK thank you for your tip. Yesterday I found a new Firmware for our drive(AL07).It is availible on the global homepage of liteon. I have read in some thread here, that there will be a firmware update for the drive that it supports BD-R DL writing. Do you know somthing about that? Or is the drive already able to burn BD-R DL media? I am a little bit confused about that because in the user manual also availible on this site they it is able to burn the media with speed 1x?!Do you have any experiences?
Thanks for firmware info. I contacted Liteon, not long ago, about new firmware and they said that the drive is not capable of burning dual-layer discs. I hope this isn't true because, like you, I have read elsewhere that they're planning to release firmware to do so. I have found, on the Liteon website, specs for a model LH-2E1S that does support 50 GB discs so maybe we're out of luck. BTW, did you have any problems installing the new firmware? For me, the software hangs after it finishes programming the firmware. I have to do a restart to get out of it. So far, it seems to be working and I was able to fall back to 06 and try again with the same results. Also, I don't have any 50 GB BD discs so I can't test to see if this release supports them. Hopefully someone else will help us out here.
I hab no problems to update the firmware. When it reached 100% the I had to wait about 1 min but the it was fine. Back to the double layer support. As far as i could find out they have to different boxes of the liteon LH 2b1s. On one box they say it support double layer on the other they say nothing to this topic. The one box with double layer support you can see on the german liteon site the other on the international.
And I am not sure but when I bought my Pc I read somthing about the Liton LH-2E1S and I think that was just able to read blu ray discs it was not able to burn on them?!
