Bad news for anyone living in the US. the Pro Ip act pass just a couple of days ago. Any opinions on it?

At first glance it looked to me like it was designed solely to allow the aa's to collect obscene amount of money when they prosecute someone in court and win. This will do nothing to curb piracy on a global scale. if they want to really try to make a difference they should stop selling cd/dvd compatible recorders and blanks mass market and make something that only works in pc drives. different formats so no blanks & no drives = no burned copies.
