Don't understand exactly what you say but I can't playback ANY HD-DVD on PDVD8.

Powerdvd 8 appears to have completely removed HD-DVD support.

I can confirm that the Power dvd 8 Ultra that I am testing play the HD-DVDs.

I don't know if it is a beta, but it play the HD-dvds without problem, and the gui is really of the power-dvd 8.

It also recognize DTS HD-Master ....

Go to the about screen, click on the registered user name, and give us the build number of the version you're using.

It's an older build, w1seman, not newer. The build date is 3/5/08 whereas ours is 4/1/08.

Well, i guess this is a beta release. The original setup file is no bigger than 125 MB.

Correct, it's one of the beta build candidates that were not publicly available would be my guess. Nonetheless, that could prove to be interesting since it still has HD DVD support. I'm wondering if it's possible to take the HD DVD components of that build and slip them into our version of 8. We know that the version 7 HD DVD components don't work from a post on AVS forum of someone who tried it. PowerDVD won't even start if it's there.

Hey, danielhu, can you check the date on a file for me?

    C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDVD8\HDDVD_X.IMP

See if that file exists. I want the size and date please.

Oh I so want to get a hold of that file. :) That could be the key to this whole darn thing.
