I'll say this for Cyberlink: Their software tends to be able to be used on different operating systems.

Case in point: I just discovered that PowerDVD 13 Ultra can easily be used on Windows 11 Professional. Also, I know that PowerDVD 14-20 Ultra easily can be used on Windows 11, along with PowerDVD 21 and 22.

I've still haven't figured out how to use PowerDVD 10 Ultra on Windows 11 Pro yet. Some permissions errors or what not, and I don't have the time or patience to try to figure them out.
 
ok, pulled the trigger. but honestly, what the f? like, media library options and capabilities are literally sheeeit tier. i can change wallpaper. lol. no additional scraper options, nothing. half the posters are missing. horrible. 100$ for that? jesus. looking at their website and stuff (so pretty and shiny and whatnot) youd expect top notch product, i guess video playback will be more satisfying that its media library capabilities. horrible. worst 60 bucks spent imo. 'your media. your way. [insert stock footage] [increase vibrance] [call it cinema quality]'. lol. my media, my way? what way? sheeit way?

like, free kodi is lightyears away from this pos. click on a movie, the most cringiest spotlight effect appears on top of your fanart, like bit_h are you kidding me??? and no poster. you click on a movie (poster), it opens a new window with synopsis, but no (large) poster?

and the background is like rendered in 400x800, even though fanart.jpg is 1080p. and the stock background, when you dont specify your fanart? let me show you, you wont believe this sh_t !!!!! lol, look at those pixels, all that noise, bro! 100$ for that pos!! good thing i have a 65'' 4k tv so i can, you know, switch to TV mode and look at that sh_t. haha. and i cant remove it or tell it to just leave the selected program wallpaper instead! what the f have they been smoking over at cyberlink? id expect this from some sheeit tier korean software, buggy as hell and GUI from 1999 (the bad kind, you know what i mean... laggy and 'futuristically' skinned one). jesus. mary. and. joseph. horrible. no, its worse than horrible...

oh, well. live and learn. at least i have a lifetime license. thats something. i guess. maybe version 35 in the year 2055 will look better.

So I surmise that you're not a fan of Cyberlink.

For the record, the only reason I keep on using Cyberlink is because they are the only licensed software approved by the Blu-ray Disc Association for the playback of Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs and regular Blu-ray discs.

I use VLC, MPC-HC, and JRiver(payware) for playback of my Blu-ray ISOs and MKVs, after I use AnyDVD/CloneBD or AnyDVD/MakeMKV to make an MKV.

i mean, playback does look nice and i know powerdvd is nowadays the only way to watch blurays on pc. ok, i see value in that. but to advertise it as some sort of library like plex or kodi or zoomplayer (btw, that stuff is even worse - installed it, runs fine the first time then crashes and i cant launch it again and zoomplayer morons charge 80$ for that pos)... i mean, its false advertising. im even thinking of asking for my moneys back. what was i thinking? i had version 20 installed, and it was buggy af. its not like i was seduced byy shiny graphics on their website (i was, btw lol), i knew what i was getting in, more or less. still. unbelievable. half the posters are missing. i said f it, ill do it myself. searching for movie 'blade II', cant find it. searching for just 'blade', theres no blade II. blade 2, maaaybe? nope. haha. searching for tv show 'archer'... cant find it. what in the hell are they using for scraping??? unbelievable. sheer horror. bottom of the barrel. oh, well...
