Well, personally, I'd like to see what happens if they rip the original movie again to the HDD and play it. Any problems? Then burn it. Any problems then?
If there is a problem viewing the content from the HDD then it's something involved in the initial ripping process. If it's fine on the HDD but then screwed up once burned we know it's the burning process.
What we do know is the original disc plays fine in the 360 and the Toshiba player and AnyDVD sees it just fine. The backup plays fine in the 360, plays like garbage in the Toshiba and has some major issues with AnyDVD reading it.
How about trying to do it again? As I said above, rerip the [original] movie and view it to make sure there are no issues and then burn it and check for issues. If there are none then I say the problem was either the garbage removed that caused a bad burn or it's an issue with the media, itself.
