Spent several hours uninstalling and reinstalling all my software with new versions a few days ago, including Clone DVD, AnyDVD, and CloneDVD Mobile.

When I was all done, I thought to myself "Slysoft updates their software every minute it seems, I bet if I go to the download page there will be another update." And sure enough, I go to the download page and CloneDVD went from version 2.9.1.0 to 2.9.1.1, right while I was in the middle of installing 2.9.1.0. I then had to redo that yet again.

Checked back again after only a couple days... now AnyDVD is updated again, from 6.1.6.7 to 6.1.6.9, with all kinds of bugs introduced then fixed.

I am sorry but these are not final software versions. Going from one "final" version to another one with tons of bugfixes over only a few days shows that this is BETA software.

I'm sick of spending time updating all of this software, only to turn around literally within the next few hours to have yet another new bugfix version dumped on me.

Please get it together Slysoft. Release BETA software first, then once you have the bugs fixed, release the FINAL version. FINAL version software shouldn't have a need to be updated for at least 90 days.

Thanks for listening.

Actually if you scan through the forums you'll see that quite often Slysoft does release beta releases and people using them are running the risk of a possible problem. Personally, I have to say that Slysoft's betas have always been amazingly stable for me w/o causing problems.

2007.08.03 20:22 EST - Slysoft AnyDVD HD 6.1.6.9

Notice 19 of the 35 releases have been betas? Slysoft, IMHO, does a good job of trying to make sure bugs don't slip through into official releases but there's always a chance they will. If they didn't they wouldn't have released more beta releases than official ones. Unfortunately, unforeseen bugs are a fact of life when dealing with software.

So, you have a couple choices: (1) don't install any beta releases and (2) don't install a new release until a day or 2 have passed to see if others comment on problems.

CloneDVD is an Elaborate Bytes product and sees far fewer updates and doesn't need as many because of the nature of how it works. The brunt of the work is done by AnyDVD from Slysoft. CloneCD, a Slysoft product, also doesn't see updates occur that often. AnyDVD, however, most definitely needs to be updated often to compensate for DVD releases. Waiting 90 days for an official release just doesn't make sense here when they could resolve a problem with a protection of specific DVD release in a couple days.

I'm really not trying to be an ass, btw. I just disagree with your assessment.

As mentioned, they do release betas from time to time. My guess is that there is not enough exposure from the betas to get a clear assesment of all the bugs that might be present.

Considering what AnyDVD software actually does, it's suprisingly stable. There's just no way you can catch every bug or issue until you have several thousand people using it on different hardware / software combinations.

I do understand the frustration though of any software which gets updated frequently. That's just how it is!

FINAL version software shouldn't have a need to be updated for at least 90 days.
anydvd has to be updated regularly to keep up with the latest copy protections on new dvd's.what if you bought a dvd next week that you couldn't copy-are you willing to wait for 90 days until the next version is released?

unlike in the past,i wont be updating ANY of my slysoft products until they've been out for a day or 2 (in case there's any possible bugs that have been introduced).my computer doesn't like being a guinea pig.
i'm sure that goes for many others users too.it is inconvenient to uninstall, restart, use ccleaner, reinstall, restart again.

the software is fantastic and i love using it and will continue to do so.
but when it's 'buggy' it's a nightmare:agree:

Wow... for a second there I thought I was on a Microsoft site regarding their OS's. :D

Take your Microsoft OS back! It's Beta by your standards.. so don't use it! LOL
