Using clone mobile i do i create a xvid file from dvd?????
choose the 'Generic (DivX)' option.
(avi=divx=xvid=basically the same format)
They can't be the same?
If they are the same then why do they say convert to divx, xvid, avi???
it is the same format just a different name.
i asked the very same question in feb 2006 in an e-mail to slysoft and this was the response i got back:
Thank you for your message.
The "DivX" format is in fact an XViD format that can be played by most DivX
compatible players and devices. We chose the more popular term "DivX".
i suppose you could say it just a different 'brand' name for the same format.
After converting a chapter from my kid`s DVD, I try to look at the resulting .avi file in Winamp (and other software players) and all I get is the sound. No pictures.
Can you guys help?
I downloaded the Divx viewr (free) and installed. Then winamp was happy. Windows (or whatever os/sw you are using) does need a codec. Divx viewer works well
Installed the Xvid codec and it now works great. Thanks
