I am ready to purchase anytime, but will wait until the VISA issues are cleared up. I don't have Mastercard and when I looked into getting a pre-paid one (never had one before), it appears the pre-paid cards are for people who are willing to pay outlandish loan-shark fees every time the card is used. Makes me wonder if pre-paid cards are targeting people who are in the money launderings business or whatever, and want to obfuscate how they are spending their money. Pre-paid cards are probably also useful for married guys who don't want their family to find out how much internet porn they are purchasing so they can watch AmberWaves or Rollergirl walk around nude in her home while taking personal requests, but I digress. :)

Welp, I only had VISA cards. So I tried getting a pre-paid Mastercard that only had the one purchase fee of $4.95 USD. Didn't work though. Called the bank and they said only for use in United States but feel free to use it anywhere in the U.S. that takes MasterCard. I searched a bit on the the package and found that it actually did say "valid in the US only" but in fine print on busy backround. There apparently is an international version but they wouldn't move the cash to it. Guess I'll use that card as a gas card. Tried looking into bitcoin. Got a wallet easy enough, but haven't found a way to buy any bitcoin yet. Every post or website that said they had a fairly easy way for USA residents to buy bitcoins to put in the wallet either led to websites that weren't there or were still there but they didn't take anyone from the US anymore. Found one that almost worked but it rejected my debit visa, regular visa credit card, and required at least $1000 for bank transfer. Got an international MasterCard debit card on order. I'll see if that does the trick. If I can't use the internatioal MasterCard debit card for purchase, maybe I can use it to get some bitcoin. It seems they really don't want you to be able to get bitcoin if you are in the US.

That is sobering. So a prepaid Mastercard might not work and you'll have to read the fine print.

Well its good to know beforehand.

I'll point out that some CC allow for a virtual card / number and that might help for some that don't want to use their CC for the purchase. IIRC the Apple CC also supports virtual card / numbers too.

I'll wait for the discount when Visa is finally supported because I have no Mastercard.

It worked! The international MasterCard debit card from https://transferwise.com/us worked. Once I got the card, I added some money in USD to TransferWise, went ahead and converted it to EUR so I wouldn't have to worry about if it didn't like USD, and placed the order for AnyDVD HD lifetime. Definitely keeping the debit card for other outside US transactions.

Didn't work for getting bitcoin though. I figured I'd try with the left over I sent to the debit card. Tried several ways and it just doesn't want me to do it. Ah well. Got AnyDVD HD with the debit card. Sending the extra money back to me.

How did you calculate how much money you would need for the transaction? Did you just transfer enough in to safely cover it or did you figure it out ahead of time?

Also, what mechanisms does it give you to transfer money into that account?

Question. Is the Visa option completely broken, or is it just rejecting US attempts.

I just sent plenty because I was going to try getting bitcoin as well. Also, I didn't want to mess with figuring out fees and being a few cents short or over. I was just going to leave the money left over on the debit card for the next time I needed it, but after my final attempt at the bitcoin stuff I just sent it all back to my checking account.

It was easy enough to get money to the debit card. You could pick Bank debit (ACH) which should show up in 2 hours, Wire transfer in about an hour, debit card in seconds, or credit card in seconds.

What was the final cost of AnyStream after you add the various fees involved in getting and using the card?

I got AnyDVD HD, not AnyStream, but if you are just buying one it looks like they are the same price.
It cost $9.00 USD for the debit card, $1.52 to send the money to TransferWise by debit card. Could have been $0.40 if I wanted to do one of the slower methods. Also, $0.84 to change the USD to EUR but I probably didn't need to do that. So, $11.36 in fees.

Hello,

Longtime user, but have been stuck in the CC purchase limbo. I don't have a Mastercard, not in to crypto. Can anyone advise how I can pay for the upgrade? My trial expired on the new software, and I would really like to be able to use it. Currently on 7.6.9.2 of Anydvd...

Visa is in the works, Virtual credit cards (such as Paypal Key) or others tend to work as long as they're valid for international purposes, or get crypto with your current payment methods.

Like Chevr0n said, the PayPal Key works great. I've been putting off buying AnyStream just because I didn't want to use my MasterCard (It's my own-for-emergencies card). I have a Visa I use for PayPal. So, I generated a PayPal Key (which is a Mastercard #) and used that to buy AnyStream. Bonus: I could delete the key after the purchase, so it can't be used for anything else.

I do not understand either what the fuzz about missing credit card options is. I bought using Bitcoin Cash today and it was really simple and straigthforward. I did do a little bit of homework on transactions fees and found that Bitcoin Core fees are exorbitant these days with median transaction fee being about $7 US. This almost cancels the 10% discount. So I went with Bitcoin Cash instead where the fees were less than 1 US cent.

To help potential buyers, Redbox might want to post a sticky message at the top of the purchase forum with the PayPal and Bitcoin/cash workarounds until the Visa issue is resolved for the USA. Also that some MC don’t work through the processor so the workaround might be needed in this case also.

there could also be a link from the purchase page to this message.

Many potential buyers may not know about the forums or read deep enough to find the solutions.
