Please enable Cropping to get rid of the black bars if a video is not exactly 16:9 format.
It would be nice to be able to crop the black bars on top and bottom and on the left and right side (if movie is still 4:3 ratio).
 
That won't do any good, if the resulting output won't fill the screen, the TV will just add the bars back.

4:3 screens do still exist. They didn't all vanish when 16:9 became available.
