OK I'm having problems with ripping this same DVD:

I have done a full scan with Sophos Anti-Rootkit, with no hidden items found after the DVD had been loaded. I've attached to this post the IFO files from Disc 1 of the DVD.

DVD Title: “Paris By Night 89 – Live In Korea”

AnyDVD version 6.1.7.4
CloneDVD2 version 2.9.1.2

Error message from CloneDVD2:

You likely have a bad original disc that needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine.

I have same problem even I used so many softwares to scan the or the rootkit just in case as many people claimed for but still can't do anything with it. I used AnyDVD 6.1.7.4 and clone 2.9.1.2. I tried to rip the disc and it complained about the space not enough (85Gb needed) !!! I have Samsung writter. I thing I know for sure it is not a bad disc. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Try a different drive, but clean the disc first if that fails return it for a new copy.

I thing I know for sure it is not a bad disc.

Based on what? Just because it plays fine, doesn't imply it is fine.

Try cleaning your disc. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

Potential Poor Quality Discs

The producer of Paris by Night videos, Thuy Nga, had recently started using a different DVD manufacturer starting from video # 88. There have been a lot of complaints on the Thuy Nga forum of poor quality source discs.

I went back to the store an exchange for 3 different sets of disc. One thing I noticed when the Clone DVD run and it errors out at ~ 7.16% all the time with all 3 set

You could simply be running into a bunch of bad discs. It's not uncommon.

1. Try cleaning your disc. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". 2. Do step 8 from here: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=321

3. a) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Click "Clipboard". Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (ctrl-v).

Error at 7% Confirmed

I can confirm that AnyDVD is encountering an error at the 7% mark of the backup process too. I just received a brand new copy of the Paris by Night 89 and tried backing it up by right clicking the red fox icon and selecting Rip Video DVD to Harddisk. And yes, I cleaned the discs twice already.

At first I was running AnyDVD 6.1.7.4 and then tried the closed beta version 6.1.7.5 with the same result, error at the 7% mark.

My Windows installation is configured to disable autorun via Tweak UI. Also, I never insert a DVD without running AnyDVD. Just to be safe, I also ran the Sophos Anti Rootkit 1.3 scan. My system is clean.

DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD running is reporting the DVD to be about 21GB! I even tried ImgBurn in Read Mode with AnyDVD with no success. All is encountering error trying to backup the VTS_01_1.VOB file.

Hopefully Slysoft will revisit this problem and provide a more reliable fix.

Here is the error from ImgBurn 2.3.2.0:
Failed to Read Sector 314688 - No Seek Complete
Failed to Read Sectors!

My apology to Slysoft. The problem may be related to the Paris by Night 89 source discs. I should have tested them on my DVD players before posting. My Denon 2910 is having problem playing the discs where as my Toshiba player jitters at the same playback point.

Then I almost guarantee a bunch (not a few, but probably a lot) of bad original discs are being sold.
