OPD Parser doesn't show OPD

It wouldn't hurt. The relevant part of your log is this:

Code:
12.41s: MKB version 72
12.41s: MKB type 48141003
12.41s: driveSupportsBusEncryption 1
12.44s: discRequiresBusEncryption 1
12.44s: SendKey failed, sense 5:6f:1
12.44s: Failed to send host key (bus encryption)

vs from my log:

Code:
33.16s: MKB version 72
33.16s: MKB type 48141003
33.16s: driveSupportsBusEncryption 1
33.20s: discRequiresBusEncryption 1
busKey: ...

On mine the bus key was sent correctly and all was well (other than the disc not being supported). So yea, I'd try with your other drive and post another log for us to take a look at.

OK here it is.

by the way, when I insert this disc into either drive, it takes forever to detect it. The laser head makes that backwards and forwards seeking noise for a very long time. I don't get this with the other discs. I this isn't caused by AACS 2.1 then I'd say the disc is faulty and I'll send it back to Amazon for a replacement. What do you think?

Here's the log file anyway.

That looks like the same log. Are you sure that's the one from your other drive?

Just did it again. 100% certain it's from the other drive.

That's definitely different than the previous log.

So it was the previous drive somehow not able to read that disc. This one can.

The previous log was also from this drive. The difference is, this one time I inserted the disc the drive detected it straight away. Previously I had to eject and re-insert it about 5 time as it kept struggling to detect it. I'll send this back for a replacement then. Strange as the disc's surface is pristine, no scratches, marks etc. With this disc, even when AnyDVD supports it, it'll be a challenge to get the drives to detect it again.

Just because the disc LOOKS fine to the human eye (yours in this case) doesn't mean it is. The human eye can't detect microscopic defects a drive laser can ;)

Before you send it back, clean it with a microfiber cloth. From inside to outer edge, all the way around the disc. Then try again. I don't care that it looks pristine to your eyes. You aren't a microscope. :p And the density on UHD's that a laser has to focus would require one in order to know for sure if it's free from dirt, defects, etc.

Ahh too late, the new one will be delivered tomorrow :) I'll let you know what happens with it of course.

Ok. If you have similar issues, try the microfiber cloth. I find it's necessary on about half my new discs right out of the box.
